The Class A motorhome, also commonly referred to as the conventional motorhome, is
the largest, most luxurious of the motorized RVs -- a virtual "home-away from-home"
on wheels, fully loaded and equipped for short trips, lengthy vacations and fulltiming.
The Class A is entirely constructed on a bare, specially designed motor vehicle chassis.
- Average Retail Value: $143,834
- Range: Most available from $76,275 to $1,350,000
Sleeps : Up to 10 people (depending on model)
- Class A motorhomes are spacious and available with every conceivable luxury found
in RVs today including basement storage, washer/dryers, satellite dishes, VCRs, back-up
cameras, hydraulic leveling, security systems, and even hot tubs.
- Another feature found on today's Class A motorhomes is the slideout. At the touch
of a button, the slideout moves a portion of the RVs exterior wall outward as much
as 3 1/2 feet to enlarge the living, dining, sleeping or even kitchen area. When
extended, the slideout protrudes beyond the normal outside walls of the RV, like
an addition on a conventional home.
- A properly loaded Class A motorhome provides an incredibly smooth and stable ride
for pleasurable long distance driving. Any experienced driver can take the wheel,
and no special license is required.
- The Class A is an ideal vehicle for all-around family travel as the full living quarters,
and all systems, are easily accessible and functional the entire time one is traveling.
Passengers can enjoy reading, watching TV, snacking, playing video games or napping,
and using the bathroom is readily available.
- Many RVers tow an automobile on the rear of large RVs to use for short side trips
once they've reached their destination.

Toterhome Truck Conversion
Toterhomes are RV conversions built on heavy duty commercial truck frames with truck
engines and cabs. They can include a living area similar to what you would see in
a normal Class A or Class C RV. A toterhome is a commercial grade version of the
popular RV toy hauler. Toterhomes can haul large trailers, and are often used by
race teams and individuals that have a lot of heavy toys to move over long distances,
all without sacrificing comfort or power.
Size: 12 to 36 feet behind the cab.
- Average Retail Value: $125,000
- Range: Most available from $25,000 to $695,000
Sleeps: 2 to 6 people (depending on model)
- Toterhomes are spacious and available with many luxuries found in RVs today including
basement storage, washer/dryers, satellite dishes, home theaters, back-up cameras,
hydraulic leveling, security systems, and more.
- Like other RVs, totorhomes often have one or more slideouts. At the touch of a button,
the slideout moves a portion of the RVs exterior wall outward as much as 3 1/2 feet
to enlarge the living, dining, sleeping or even kitchen area. When extended, the
slideout protrudes beyond the normal outside walls of the RV, like an addition on
a conventional home.
- RVs built on heavy duty truck frames are very safe because they can easily handle
the light duty application presented by the RV layout. If properly maintained, they
will also easily outlast a conventional RV.
- Commercial truck RV conversions come in three basic types: Fully enclosed coaches
similar to Class A and Class C RVs
- Garage style Toy Hauler conversions
- True Toterhomes with a smaller living area (up to 16 feet) and a 5th wheel hitch
at the back
- No special license is required to drive a toterhome or truck conversion for non-commercial
purposes. Special licensing may apply in some states if extremely heavy or long loads
are being hauled.
